The Senior Associate, Knowledge & Communications (K&C) is a central member of a fast-moving and highly collaborative team that designs and executes outreach, communications, and thought-leadership projects to advance NFF’s work toward a more just and vibrant society. S/he is charged with executing a variety of projects and tasks including (but not limited to) creation and dissemination/publication of text-based and graphic content via social media, marketing collateral, and three websites.

The position requires someone with a proactive, problem-solving, and collaborative spirit, a solution-seeker with a sense of humor and a willingness to pivot. S/he also must have strong writing, copyediting, and proofreading skills; a commitment to responsibly seeing a project or task through to fruition on time and budget, and an interest and ability to identify and compellingly tell NFF’s stories. We are looking for a good and active listener; a creative thinker, someone who’s ready to respectfully voice his/her thoughts and ideas – and equally ready to jump in with two feet whatever the chosen path.

The ideal candidate embodies NFF’s values, proactively builds strong relationships with and wholeheartedly collaborates across K&C and wider NFF teams, and adds value up and down the management chain.
This position will be based in NFF’s New York headquarters and will report to the Vice President, Knowledge & Communications.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Create and disseminate/publish text and graphic content via NFF publications, three websites, marketing/sales collateral, stakeholder e-blasts, and social media.
Manage internal and external content development, review and approval processes including sourcing and arranging permissions for text and images and maintaining an up-to-date repository.
Project-manage production and dissemination of reports, emails, blogs, and other materials, liaising with staff and freelance writers, designers, printers, and distributors.
Support NFF campaigns and events; provide some team administrative support.
Other duties as assigned.

Essential Requirements for Experience and/or Education:

A strategic communications mindset and tactical excellence.
Strong, versatile writing, copyediting, and proofreading skills; a keen eye for detail and design.
College degree and/or 2+ years of professional experience with social media, website content creation and management, collateral development and production.
Creative thinking and a good-natured willingness to pivot and problem-solve in a dynamic work environment.
Accountability with strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work enthusiastically and productively within a highly collaborative team as well as independently with minimal supervision.

Commitment to put your all toward NFF’s business-plus-mission objectives.
Comfort with sometimes-technical business, finance, and management issues and terms.
An inquisitive nature and eagerness to learn and stretch.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; InDesign; Constant Contact or another e-marketing platform.

Preferred but not required:

Experience with Drupal 8, Photoshop, html.
