Position Summary:


NFF’s Financial Services business is seeking an Analyst to serve as a core part of the national team. The Analyst will support the success of the team by providing day to day database management, investor report and proposal preparation and general workflow support. The successful incumbent will work closely with the Manager, Financial Services in serving an internal and external client base.   

This position will be based in New York and will support the work and activity of NFF’s national Financial Services team currently located in national offices. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
 

 

  •   Support the procurement of debt financing and grants for the financing business by preparing materials for applications and tracking and managing the application status.
  •  Track, compile, draft and submit reports to loan fund investors, funders and other partners and stakeholders, including private foundations and government agencies, membership organizations and coalitions, among others. 
  •  Prepare and edit reports and presentations for internal and external presentations.
  •   Support the refinement and adoption of NFF’s databases and tools, particularly Salesforce, by designing reports, facilitating the uploading of data and training staff.
  •   Contribute to NFF’s impact reporting efforts through the collection and tracking of output and outcome data; monitoring data entry and ensuring the integrity of relevant databases.
  •  Represent financial services on internal working groups.
  •  Support Financial Services expansion by researching new opportunities, partners, lenders and funders, drafting memos, concept papers and proposals.
  •   Prepare marketing and other materials for workshops, presentations and conferences.
  •   Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Essential Requirements for Education and/or Experience:
 

  •   Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred with an interest in nonprofit administration and programs desired.
  •  1 - 3 years of experience as an administrative or junior program professional in a nonprofit or financial services environment.
  • Independent, with a professional demeanor and ability to interact with a wide range of individuals, particularly as part of a larger team.
  •  Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  •  Strong organizational skills, time management and multi-tasking abilities.
  •  Keen attention to detail.
  •  Good trouble-shooting skills.
  •   Flexibility and openness to learn new skills and systems and an entrepreneurial work ethic.
  •   Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (particularly Excel, as well as Word and PowerPoint), general knowledge of database systems and comfort in Web 2.0 technologies.

 

Specialized Knowledge/Beneficial Skills and Experience:
 

  • Coursework or experience with an emphasis in business, finance or accounting a plus.
  • Experience with Salesforce desired.
