The Financial Services team is seeking to hire a Junior Loan Officer. The Junior Loan Officer plays a central role in the growth and expansion of NFF’s financing business on the west coast. The Junior Loan Officer supports the underwriting of and directly underwrites transactions and works closely with the Loan Originations / Business Development team and the Manager, Underwriting to ensure the deal pipeline proceeds in a timely and expeditious manner. Primary responsibilities include: managing the collection and analysis of client due diligence; analyzing financial spreads; underwriting loans and lines of credit; preparing documents for loan approval; presenting proposals to loan committees; and assisting with loan closings. In addition, the Junior Loan Officer maintains knowledge of key markets within the western region and across all sectors and industries in which NFF works. The Junior Loan Officer partners internally to support meeting budgeted lending goals and contributes to lending process improvements.
The Junior Loan Officer must demonstrate an interest in or commitment to supporting low-income communities and/or the nonprofit sector and must possess strong communication and relationship building with the ability to forge deep community relationships while setting realistic expectations and moving financial projects forward.
This position will be based in NFF’s Oakland or Los Angeles office and reports to the Manager, Underwriting in the same location. The position requires a minimum of 20% travel, which will be mostly within the Bay Area and Los Angeles.
